Where does this synonym come from?
S. & A. & M. are my children's initials which together make up the name Sam.
Cayouga: As a friend of North America (USA and Canada), the Cayuga symbolize my closeness with this great country. The fact that I write Cayouga differently than the Cayuga people is due to a spelling mistake, which has still remained .
Who are the Cayuga?
The Cayuga or Gayogohó:no' or Guyohkohnyoh ("People of the Great Marshes") are a tribe of the Haudenosaunee ("People of the Longhouse"), a confederation of originally five (later six) tribes or nations of the Iroquoian language family. The Cayuga lived and hunted between the Seneca to the west and the Onondaga to the east. They are one of the indigenous groups of North American Indians.
Today, the Cayuga live mostly in the Six Nations Reservation of the Grand River in Canada. In the United States there is the Cayuga Nation of New York in Perrysburg, in upstate New York, and the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma in northeastern Oklahoma.
