PHCG Bavaria

The Paint Horse Club Germany e.V. [PHCG]

The success story of American Paint Horses in Germany began in 1983 in Hagen, Westphalia, with the founding of the PHCG Germany e.V. As a recognized regional association of the American Paint Horse Association (APHA), the Paint Horse Club Germany aims to promote the American Paint Horse in Germany through breeding and sport.

The PHCG is divided into nine regional groups, which largely correspond to political and geographical boundaries and generally coincide with the state borders. Assignment to a region is normally based on the place of residence. The highest decision-making body of the association is the General Assembly (Board of directors). The delegates are elected in the individual regional groups to serve on the board of directors.

The PHCG Bavaria is the largest and most active regional group of the Paint Horse Club Germany e.V.

  • Regional Group Show: With the Bavaria Paint, we have the most successful and, at 25 years, the most enduring regional group show.
  • Bavarian Champion: Members of the PHCG Bavaria have produced countless Bavarian Champions [of course!].
  • German Champion: Members of the PHCG Bavaria have produced countless German Champions.
  • European Champion: Members of the PHCG Bavaria have produced countless European Champions.
  • World Champion: Brigitte Munkert from the Bavaria regional club became World Champion in America with a horse she bred and trained herself.
  • Top Breeders: Breeding farms in the Bavarian regional group have produced countless "German Leading Breeders"; most notably Chrom Ranch / Memmingen and SQ Horses / Haldenwang.
  • PHCG Hall of Fame: Brigitte Munkert, a member of PHCG Bavaria, has been inducted into the Hall of Fame (Germany) for her outstanding contributions.
  • APHA Professional Horseman: Monika Hagen of PHCG Bavaria was the first recipient of the "Professional Horseman" award in Europe and Germany.
  • APHA Board of Directors: Monika Hagen, a member of PHCG Bavaria, serves on the APHA Board of Directors.
  • APHA International Directors: Bavaria is also represented among the international delegates. Sabrina Freiberg and Sabine Biller, both from PHCG Bavaria, serve as Directors on the APHA's international board. Isabell Weber-Elsner (Westphalia region), Jasmin Schuster (Baden-Württemberg), and Alina Helmke (Alternate | Northern region) complete the list of German APHA Directors.

By the way,

you don't necessarily have to own an American Paint Horse to become a member of the PHCG. We welcome anyone who is involved with these animals through breeding, sport, or simply out of love for them. And of course, we are especially pleased when you join the PHCG Bavaria.
